The HDPE Pipe Floater (also referred to as pipe float, dredge floater, slurry pipe floater, or polyethylene flotation system) is a high-performance buoyancy solution purpose-built for subsea, marine, and industrial piping systems. Engineered to keep discharge lines, slurry pipelines, HDPE pipes, steel pipes, rubber hoses, and floating cable systems afloat in rivers, harbors, offshore environments, and inland waterways, this floater ensures stable pipeline positioning, reduced structural stress, and long-term operational reliability.
UV-Stabilized HDPE Outer Shell – Manufactured from premium UV-resistant virgin polyethylene, the outer shell withstands prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, saltwater, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions without cracking, brittleness, or degradation. The black, orange, or yellow color options enhance visibility for workboat and patrol vessel safety.
Closed-Cell PU Foam Core (100% Waterproof) – Filled with high-density closed-cell polyurethane foam, the floater maintains consistent buoyancy even if the outer shell is accidentally punctured. Unlike expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam that saturates and sinks over time, this closed-cell core exhibits near-zero water absorption, guaranteeing long-term buoyancy reliability.
Split-Type Modular Design – The two-piece split-body construction allows quick installation and removal directly onto existing pipelines without cutting, lifting, or disconnecting the pipe system. This feature is particularly valuable for offshore operations where downtime is prohibitively expensive.
Heavy-Duty Rotational Molding Construction – Produced using rotational molding technology, the HDPE shell offers superior impact resistance, absorbing energy from wave action, collisions with marine vessels, debris, or underwater structures without cracking. The thick shell (6–16mm) ensures deformation resistance under heavy loads.
Wide Operating Temperature Range – Engineered to perform reliably in extreme conditions from -40℃ to +80℃, making it suitable for operations in Arctic, tropical, and temperate marine environments alike.
Corrosion & Chemical Resistance – Non-metallic construction eliminates galvanic corrosion in saltwater environments. The HDPE material is naturally resistant to sea salt, chemicals, abrasion, and marine growth, extending both floater and pipe service life.
Low Maintenance & Long Service Life – Requires minimal upkeep compared to traditional steel floatation solutions. With a service life exceeding 15 years—three times longer than steel pontoons—this floater delivers exceptional total cost of ownership.
